Morinville’s Maxine Montpellier marks 100 remarkable years with heartfelt celebration

Heritage Place Lodge was filled with joy and heartfelt emotion on Thursday, April 17, as
family, friends, and community members gathered to celebrate the 100th birthday of Maxine
Montpellier, a long-time resident of Morinville and a beloved figure in the local community.
The dining room of the lodge was transformed for the special occasion, with festive decorations,
delicious refreshments, and cake. Live entertainment was provided by Ed Bulger, whose
performance added warmth and cheer to the event, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere
befitting such a milestone.
In the days leading up to the celebration, Maxine shared her growing excitement with the staff at
Heritage Place Lodge. When asked if she had any wisdom to share about living to 100, she
simply replied that she had no secret formula—other than living each day to its fullest.
A standout moment of the celebration was the arrival of Mayor Simon Boersma, who made a
special visit to recognize Maxine’s incredible milestone. He presented her with a 100-Year
Centennial Certificate in tribute to her remarkable achievement. His visit added a meaningful
touch to the day and reflected the community’s admiration for Maxine’s long and inspiring life.
The staff at Heritage Place Lodge were proud to be part of the celebration and spoke warmly of
Maxine’s impact on the community. “We were honored to host such a meaningful celebration,
and we’re truly pleased with the success of the event,” said Courtney Farmer, Recreation
Coordinator at Heritage Place Lodge. “The day was a testament to Maxine’s enduring vitality
and the affection she has cultivated over the years. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to her
on this extraordinary milestone and wish her many more years of happiness and health.”
Her 100th birthday was not only a special occasion but a meaningful tribute to a life that
has touched many in the Morinville community. Surrounded by family, friends, and
neighbors, Maxine’s milestone was marked with warmth, music, and heartfelt moments
that will be remembered for years to come.
