It’s time to rock and roll as Morinville Rocks, an annual scavenger hunt that gets residents out onto trails and greenspaces, returns. The activity was developed to bring friends and families together, showcase Morinville’s gorgeous greenspaces and encourage healthy habits. From now and until August 26 you are encouraged to download a map and follow clues to find eleven colourfully painted rocks. When you find one of the hidden rocks, record the letter on your tracking sheet then unscramble the letters to reveal a secret message and enter to win a great prize pack filled with summertime fun.
“Originally, the rocks were painted by local youth and senior volunteers who wanted to share their art with the community,” explained Jennifer Potocnik, Acting Manager of Community Services for the Town of Morinville. “The rocks were so beautifully painted; we had a hard time keeping them on the trails. Even now with simpler designs, we get reports of missing rocks from time to time.”
To participate in Morinville Rocks, visit www.morinville.ca to download the map and tracking sheet. Email your completed tracking sheet to community@morinville.ca by 4:00 p.m. on August 20 to be entered for a chance to win the great summertime fun prize pack!
