Julie Godfry and her team at the Morinville Veterinary Clinic at 9804 90 Avenue hosted the Morinville Dog Show and Craft Fair Saturday, August 20, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, right behind the clinic. Employees and a few external people volunteered their Saturday afternoon raising money for a great cause, the OSCAR Fund. The OSCAR fund is an account the clinic runs to help support low-income clients that face emergencies with their pets.
Godfry said, “We are so excited to be hosting this event, which is the biggest OSCAR event the clinic has undertaken thus far!”
The day was filled with excitement from volunteers, community members, and various dogs that attended. The dog show was divided into categories: the best trick, best costume, fluffiest dog, loudest bark, goodest girl, bestest boy, and top dog. Many guests swooned over the cute and talented dogs as they did their best tricks and competed in the competition. Ribbons and prizes were awarded to the winners of all the different categories, and pet-friendly goodie bags to each participant. Twenty vendors entered the craft market with all sorts of various homemade goods. Guests were intrigued with the items purchased from vendors like Vivian’s Crafts, Tickle Me Pink, Sunset Gourmet, and Classy Crates and Creations, to name a few. SCARS had a puppy adoption booth set up that had everyone excited and wanting to take home a new family member.
Godfry said, “A huge thank you to Kim Mills from the Town of Morinville and Joanne with SCARS for volunteering their time as judges and for all the vendors at the craft fair! The event went so well and was a success. We appreciate the community for coming out!”
