Homeland Housing will have a new main office in Morinville this spring. The 5,000 square foot facility is being built by Krawford Construction, an Edmonton-based general contractor that began work last autumn. The office building is located next to Heritage Place Lodge on Laval Avenue.
“We started in September by laying the foundation, and now we’re working on all the exteriors, drywalling and roofing,” said Jordan Cottrell, Site Superintendent for Krawford Construction. “It’s going to be very new with the main offices there. It’s being renovated, and we’re fixing some of the older framing and then building all the interior work.”
According to their website, Homeland Housing provides accommodation for more than 850 people in nine communities across Sturgeon County. The organization offers affordable housing for seniors, affordable community housing, and designated supportive living for levels three and four.
Some of the facilities include Heritage Place Lodge in Morinville, Spruce View Manor in Gibbons, Chateau Sturgeon in Legal, and Diamond Spring Lodge in Redwater. Other communities include Westlock, St. Albert, Jarvie, Clyde and Bon Accord.
